Welcome to Golden Afternoon

All of our ketamine and esketamine therapies are done under the supervision of a medical doctor in a comfortable, luxurious setting in the Los Angeles area.

Our journey to Golden Afternoon

Founded in 2022 by Victoria Webster and Dr. Jennifer Ellice. In the following years, we have administered this therapy to hundreds of patients who have found relief from depression, anxiety, PTSD, chronic pain, and other mood disorders.

Dr. Jenn

Jennifer Ellice, MD, has a passion for helping patients who have not found relief through traditional treatments. She is board certified in emergency medicine and based in Los Angeles. She studied at Princeton University, University of Rochester School of Medicine, and the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University Residency Program in Emergency Medicine before coming to Los Angeles where she has practiced since 2008, gaining extensive experience in emergency medicine and critical care. She first noticed the transformative power of ketamine infusions while using it in the emergency room for anesthesia. She is excited to offer this cutting-edge therapy to her patients. Dr. Jenn is dedicated to providing a comfortable and modern clinical setting for her patients and is committed to delivering high-quality care in a setting that promotes hope and healing. She believes in the brain's capacity for regeneration and healing.

Victoria

Victoria Webster has been a devotee of alternative medicine her whole life. She co-founded Golden Afternoon after she experienced first hand how effective ketamine therapy could be for depression and anxiety. She is a Certified Core Energetics Practitioner (a branch of somatic therapy) and brings her knowledge of these integrative practices to the clinic. She has a B.A. in History of Science from Princeton University, and has been studying different healing modalities for many years. She believes in holistic, patient-centered care, and is committed to providing a safe space where insight, science, spirituality and beauty come together for a transformative healing experience.

You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.

Still have questions about GLP-1, ketamine and Golden Afternoon's approach to both? These are common questions we have heard asked.
Do I have to do both treatments?

No. Some patients benefit from one modality alone, while others may benefit from a combined approach. Recommendations are always individualized based on your medical history, goals, and preferences. Our role is to help you understand your options—not to push a one-size-fits-all plan.

Is this approach safe?

Safety is central to our care model. All patients undergo medical screening before starting treatment, and we monitor response and side effects closely throughout care. Mental health symptoms are assessed and followed as appropriate, and we coordinate with outside clinicians when needed.

Will this guarantee weight loss or mood improvement?

No treatment can guarantee specific outcomes. Weight and mental health are complex and influenced by many factors. Our approach is designed to support metabolic and psychological health, but individual responses vary.

Can GLP-1 medications affect mood?

Large clinical trials of GLP-1 medications for obesity have not shown an increased risk of depression or suicidal behavior compared with placebo. That said, mental health is always monitored as part of responsible care, particularly in patients with a history of mood disorders.

How quickly does ketamine therapy work?

Some patients notice changes in mood within days, while others experience more gradual improvement over time. Ketamine therapy is not a cure and works best as part of a broader treatment plan that may include psychotherapy, lifestyle support, and ongoing medical care.

What if I’ve struggled with weight for years?

Many patients come to us after repeated attempts that felt frustrating or discouraging. We view this not as a failure of effort, but as a sign that biology and mental health may need to be addressed together. Our goal is to meet you where you are and move forward at a sustainable pace.

What makes your clinic different?

We intentionally provide care in a calm, unrushed environment. Our staff is experienced, attentive, and deeply invested in patient well-being. We believe feeling safe, supported, and respected is an essential part of healing—and we design our clinic experience accordingly.

Are compounded medications FDA-approved?

No. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and are not reviewed by the FDA for safety, effectiveness, or quality in the same way as FDA-approved drugs. When compounded medications are used, we discuss this openly and review potential risks, benefits, and alternatives so patients can make informed decisions.
